I had been looking for a core i5 8600k CPU. It was sold out everywhere, and significantly marked up. Initially I had an order placed with an online retailer, who was charging 50 bucks extra and had the CPU on backorder.
One of my favorite stores! Great selection and prices, and price matching to major online vendors. Staff is always friendly and polite. Been stopping here for several years and will continue to do so.
I ended up finding the 8600k at Micro Center, at standard retail pricing. On top of that, Micro Center was running a promo where motherboards purchased with a compatible CPU were an additional 30 bucks off. I ended up with a better motherboard than I had initially ordered online, for less money, and the CPU in-hand.
This place fills the gap now that Comp USA is closed. They have very wide selection of computer components as well as TVs and other electronics. Good prices on 3D printing filiment as well. The employees work on commission so they are very helpful sometimes when you don't want them to be as well. Still a great place to shop. Especially for that odd part or adapter you need that day.
Like every Micro Center I've been in, the staff never assume I'm stupid (as a female computer geek, that is rare and much appreciated). Only place that carries Bawls in this area that I know of (Target stopped). All the bits to build a computer or other projects, often at prices as good or very close to online. The ability to order online and pick up what I need by the registers is very handy. The yellow tagged return items are discounted, as are display models. Never had any problems with any of the yellow tagged items I've bought, and I always look for them.
Place has a wide selection of computer parts and systems. Really you could find almost anything you needed here. Prices are competitive and believe they price match most major retailers. Staff was helpful but quick to move on from my questions.
